Crust Bakery

Crust is a female owned and operated bakery which provides our city with delicious French inspired baked goods. Crystal and Sherin have a serious passion for serving excellent products, which are made from scratch using both traditional and modern techniques.

Sherin was born and raised in Mumbai, India. After a career in Advertising she found her passion for working with food. She attended Le Cordon Bleu Pastry School – Bangkok, after which Sherin moved to Canada where she found a position with Crust Bakery. 9 Years later she is an owner of the Bakery. Sherin loves being creative with food and is a passionate leader who embodies her values of being true to herself, living honestly & putting in the work.

 

Crystal is one of the original owners of Crust and a Vancouver Island local who grew up in the Cowichan Valley. After studying hotel and restaurant management in Victoria 1995, she moved to Canberra Australia, where she owned and operated two fine-dining restaurants. Upon moving back to Canada in 2013 and starting a family, she transitioned into the business of baking which offered a better balance and quality of life with her children. Crystal has a keen eye for quality and consistency, and enjoys sourcing fresh local produce for her bakers to get creative with. Her love of developing relationships, combined with a passion for excellent service have led to a great overall customer experience and lines out the door since opening in 2013.

Our kitchen team includes Bakers, Pastry Chefs, Chocolatiers, Cooks, and dishwashers, supported by our vibrant, enthusiastic servers and delivery drivers. 

 

We use only the finest and freshest seasonal ingredients to create delicious breads and baked goods, 7 days a week.
